Join Professor Maja in this energizing and information-jammed workshop to explore why the imposter syndrome affects so many of us, how it’s marketed exclusively to women and how to effectively manage it. We will discuss both the internal and external influences on our self doubt, including, perfectionism, bias, stereotypes and likeability.
If we want to effectively manage our feelings of imposterism we need to recognize how it shows up in our lives and how we typically deal with it. In this workshop, you will learn how to develop a more realistic view of what competence is (and it’s not perfectionism), you’ll understand how organizations, industries and systems feed our insecurities (or create them!), and you will develop compassion for yourself by learning that self-kindness, not self-judgment is the way forward.
Professor Maja draws on her 6-year global study on women’s confidence to inform her research and build her concepts and strategies. This workshop will demystify the common assumptions around the imposter syndrome. You’ll learn strategies to help you deal with self-criticism, understand how bias and stereotypes influence our self-doubt and feelings of imposterism and learn to lead with confidence and self-compassion.
